Decorating in Autumn may not be a tradition in Malta and Gozo but we are slowly loving the opportunity to do so, especially as Halloween is just around the corner. When we think of the Autumn season; our minds muster visions of reds, yellows, and burnt orange, and we think of squash, pumpkins, and yummy nutritious soups. Read on for simple ways to incorporate this into your home.
Here is a rundown of different ideas to incorporate simple Autumn Décor Ideas into your home.
1. Dried Flowers
Change up your bright summery bouquet to some dried flowers in warm earthy tones. Choose a variation of leaves and flowers of muted tones and sticking to the Autumn colours – muted greens, rust, mustard, and burnt oranges. Changing up a bouquet will instantly transition your home from Summer to Autumn, and create a statement on its own.
2. Amber pots and vases
If you want to go the extra mile, shift some of your pottery to some amber vases or ceramic vases to incorporate warmer tones into your home. Pair them with an assorted selection of dried flowers or branches as above to complete a subtle Autumnal look.
Changing up the cushions by the season is such an easy way of decorating a space. You do not have to buy a load of different cushions to transition to Autumn. Keep your normal neutral cushions and add statement cushions to the mix with different shades of rust, cream, or mustard to add a pop of colour. You can opt to add more layers with different textured or patterned cushions and blankets.

If you love to host dinner parties, and entertaining at home, you could add a beautiful arrangement with candles to your dining table which will instantly bring in a seasonal change. Why not add some warmth by using darker toned napkins, or if you want to really impress your guests, wrap some dried flowers or herbs around them and scatter some seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Wreaths are such an easy way to bring neutral elements to the space whilst bringing the outside in. There is no need to wait until Christmas to brighten up your home and you can event create and decorate your own wreath using a grapevine base adding in some dried eucalyptus or olive leaves and adding touches of floral orange tones to tie in with the rest of your Autumnal décor.
