This December The Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo are hosting a wonderful programme of festive events for the whole family to enjoy responsibly.
celebrations may look a little different this year but Christmas In Gozo is not cancelled. Read on to find out what’s happening near you.
The enchanting villages in Gozo are all dressed up with gorgeous sparkly lights and decorations to spread Christmas cheer. Although this Christmas may be different from how we envisaged, there are plenty of reasons to still celebrate and enjoy this magical time of year in a safe and responsible way. The Cultural Heritage Directorate in conjunction with The Ministry of Gozo have put together the following programme of free festive events for you to enjoy.
Deck The Halls
Are you obsessed with dressing your windows at Christmas? Well – ‘Deck The Halls’ is a brilliant competition for the best-dressed window in Gozo!
Anyone who lives in a Gozitan residence can take part and prizes will be distributed to one winner of every category for every locality. Entrants will be accepted until 13th December – so hurry, hurry, hurry – time is running out!
Every child wants to see Santa right? This year is no exception. Although he might not be masking his way through the skies, he can be booked via Zoom – like most of us in 2020!
Book a video call for your children to see and speak to Santa Claus this Christmas from the comfort of your own home. What is not to love?
Santa is available between 5 – 8pm on 11th through to 13th December or 18th through to 20th December.
Christmas Drive-In Cinema
This looks like so much fun! Gozo’s has a socially-distance-friendly Drive-In Cinema once again and this time, it’s screening Christmas movies. Perfect!
It’s back at Victoria Football Ground and there is no need to book – so get ready, bring what you need to eat and drink, don’t forget your favourite blanket and cosy up on 18th December between 8 and 11pm.
Spot Santa In Your Village
Santa Claus will be winding through the streets of Gozo, as usual, this year. Check when Santa is visiting your locality via the poster. Children and their relatives are urged to stay home and spot Santa from the comfort of your own homes.

Dinja tat-Tfal (Children’s World)
Postponed to 30th December due to weather.
Cruise along Wileġ street, Qala and meet Santa Claus and your favourite characters along the way all from the comfort of your own car.

Location: Triq il-Wileg, Qala
SCJ – A Song Reborn
Schola Cantorum Jubilate, SCJ Children’s Choir and SCJ Teenage Boys Singers, accompanied by Cordia String Quartet and choir pianists, under the direction of Marouska Attard will be bringing Christmas cheer with a series of drive-in virtual concerts with 3D mapping. Enjoy from the comfort and safety of your own private vehicle. Held in St Augustine Square, Victoria on 22nd and 23rd December, and 26th to 30th December from 18:00 and 20:00.

Għal Għonq it-Triq
How exciting – A live Christmas Crib with a magical drive-through experience is also new to Gozo’s Christmas events this year.
It runs from 26th – 29th December from 17:00-19:00pm.
