This is the most classic and traditional way to decorate your tree. Using the common variation of bright reds, golds and greens that literally scream out Christmas! Lots of ornate baubles, ornaments and layered garlands to give it a warm and rich feel.
Not so traditional, the minimalistic style tree is exactly that. It leans towards a more Scandinavian style which ties in well with modern homes. Focus on neutral elements, keeping the tree as simple as possible. Use greenery, wood, pine cones and maybe touches of dried oranges for just a hint of colour.
A good mix between the traditional and minimal style is rustic. It ties in the neutral elements with touches of colour and still feels Christmassy. Wood, burlap, dark berry reds and dark greens are utilised with a laid back and effortless flair which fits in well with most home styles. Ornaments tend to be in woods, metals or glass added with touches of branches or twigs.
For the quirky people out there, and those that perhaps wish to diversify from the standard traditional style, you can brighten up your home and give it some pizazz with kitsch, rainbow colours, lights and multicoloured ornaments. It’s up to you how over the top you go – this style can be a lot of fun!
This style is more on the elegant side which mostly includes light coloured tones with a variety of metallics, glittered ornaments, tones of white, gold or silver. Lots of layers are added with ribbons and sparkly garlands, this style is all about the glitz!
