Queen of the loom, Alda Bugeja is a fifth-generation weaver in Gozo and offers handmade, bespoke textile products made using eco-friendly materials. She specializes in traditional skills including weaving, spinning, macrame, and rope making.

In a world that’s become increasingly impersonal and automated, discovering traditional designers that craft with care feels like a breath of fresh air. Every Wednesday from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm you will enjoy a special demonstration of Alda spinning, weaving, and macrame. Watch as she spins sheep’s wool and weaves on traditional handlooms and macrame.

Alda also offers experiences and workshops so you can try this art yourself. Make something special while you are in Gozo that emanates the island’s artisan culture.
