How to travel to Gozo from Malta.

There are two companies operating the fast ferry service. They run from the Lascaris Wharf Terminal in the Grand Harbour in Valletta to the Mgarr Ferry Terminal in Gozo and back.

Both companies make travelling to Gozo from Malta a 45-minute dream. It’s a fun ride, and both boats offer drinks and snacks. You can pre-book your tickets online or via the Gozo Fast Ferry App, or pay once you are on board, but we recommend upfront booking in the high season between June – September.

Since the fast ferry now runs between Gozo and Valletta, it makes travelling between the two islands super easy. You could be lazing on a Gozitan beach during the day, and having dinner in Valletta that same evening. A journey that would have before, taken much longer.

We obviously think staying in Gozo and taking a day trip to the mainland is the way forward. You can get the best of both worlds. We took the fast ferry from Gozo to Valletta to do some shopping and have lunch and we were back in Gozo just in time for the perfect sunset. Watch our trip below.

Gozo fast Ferry information

Look out for the Gozo fast ferry boats, ‘YOUR FAITH’ and ‘YOUR WISDOM’. They are capable of reaching 32 knots at top speed which makes the crossing really fast! They have disabled access, Wi-Fi and a bar serving cold and warm drinks and snacks. They also have free Wi-Fi onboard.
