Xlendi
If you are looking for a truly authentic experience when touring the Mediterranean, take a few hours wandering the streets of Gozo Island and you will not be disappointed. You can’t help to notice the beautiful crusty walls and doors indicative of the Mediterranean. The question is, is there anything going on behind them?
Mgarr Ferry Port
Local photographer and lens connoisseur, Jason Gafa shoots this Mediterranean island regularly and captures a unique beauty through his eyes, for us all to basque in. This is an oft unseen angle of the pretty ferry terminal at Mgarr, a popular travel destination on Gozo.
Blue Hole, Dwejra
A popular and authentic Mediterranean travel destination on the golden coastline of Gozo’, the Blue Hole is a natural wonder. Those that dare, jump. Those that snorkel, explore. Those that play safe, take pictures.
Comino
When you search photos of Gozo, the views of Comino, the island located in between Malta and Gozo, come up regularly, but you will never see the same image twice. The landscape changes daily with the light, but mostly all year round, you will witness the crystal clear blue waters from Hondoq, Qala and Ghajnsielem. Trips to captivating Comino run daily from Mgarr and Hondoq Beach.
Tal Mixta Cave, Ramla Beach
This photo of Tal Mixta Cave in Gozo is stunningly captured by Marco Tamby and at the perfect time when the sun is setting behind Ramla Bay. Take a picnic and a cold beer and watch nature’s most fantastic show.
Ta Pinu
The grandness of Ta Pinu and the surrounding area is also well-documented photo when exploring Gozo online, but like any of these images, it is truly a must-see when you are here, and if you are brave enough – you can climb the hill and delight in the mysterious treasures found there. Interested?
Hondoq Bay
Tucked away in Qala, the easternmost village in Gozo you will find this gem of a beach. Hondoq Bay is popular with the locals and is a swimmers paradise. From here you can eat, drink, take trips to Comino, snorkel, dive and obviously take your own photos of Gozo.
Xlendi Sunset
You can’t visit Gozo without getting a photo of a sunset, and witnessing a Xlendi sunset is a bucket-lister. Although, no picture will ever do it real justice. Gozo Segway did a good job with this one, we must admit. Grab a blanket and sit on the beach, or a cocktail at Moby Dicks while you watch the sun go down. Dreamy.
Mgarr Harbour
As the sky turns pink at dusk, there is no place better than sitting on the dock of a bay, watching the tide roll away. This view is taken by One80 Kitchen, outside this popular Gozitan bar and restaurant.
Mushroom Rock
Just along from Wied il-Mielah is this amazing mushroom-shaped rock, beautifully caught here by Derren Vella
