Experience Gozo like a local. Learn everything you need to know about Mġarr, Gozo.
The harbour town of Mġarr is the first town you reach when arriving in Gozo by ferry from Malta. The island’s largest fishing port is surrounded by bars and restaurants. There aren’t places to stay as such around the harbour, but if you search neighbouring towns such as Ghajnsielem, Qala or Xewkija, you won’t be far away.
This is one of the places to be when it comes to nightlife in Gozo.
Beaches & Walks
As Mġarr is the harbour town there are no beaches, as such, but there are a fair few Gozo swim spots just waiting to be discovered as you walk around the coast. Also, explore in and around Fort Chambray, in the town of Ghanjsielem, which overlooks the harbour. You can also walk from Mgarr to Mgarr ix Xini and take in the mesmerising views. A must for outdoor experiences on Gozo.
