Spoiler Alert: Could this be the best dessert on Gozo right now?
Ok – let’s get real…
Dessert is an important part of dining out for most of us. Yes, even those that say ‘No not for me!’ or ‘I’d better not!’. Deep down, surely they want that dessert? In fact. I’m convinced they really, really want it, but sadly, they will tell themselves a whole other story.
This post is not for those people. Feel free to click NEXT.
Ok – we want to drag this out and create some much-needed anticipation. (We know you are on the edge of your seats.) Besides, you don’t have dessert straight away, right? If you happen to be at Country Terrace, you are in for the long haul. You are ready to sit back, relax and enjoy a perfect three-course lunch or dinner. Hell Yeah!
We won’t talk about the panoramic, stunning views over the channel, Comino, and Malta.
Not this time.
Let’s, for now, talk about the super service, the superior ingredients that have been treated like kings and served on plated perfection. Let’s talk about the journey those ingredients have made from ground to plate. I can let you into a secret, it’s a very short one. Let’s talk about the prettiness of those plates and the feelings they evoke when placed in front of you.
YOU feel like a king. Or a queen. Or both.
Ok! Ok! ‘So what was that dessert?’ I hear you cry! Well – I wasn’t going to have a dessert. I didn’t plan on having one. But when Baked Alaska is offered to me, the drawling got real.
Knowing you always get huge value for your money at Country Terrace, I expected a dessert that I couldn’t man alone, but I was wrong. Luckily I knew I had a couple of lovely ladies that could help me out if things got tough.
But this Baked Alaska was faultless.
Served delicately, with a shot of Sambucca, lovingly poured over the top before it was lightly torched at the table. It stole the show. I could feel the envy flying off my lunch comrades and ironically, the size was just perfect. With hindsight, these ladies were lucky they got a taste.
If you do anything over the coming weeks, get to Country Terrace – you may just be lucky enough to order this gem yourself.
