Accomplished filmmaker Ricky Bugeja records a handprint in time.This short film follows Gozitan artist Mario Abela, – renowned for his eclectic storytelling and exploration, around an empty, silent but stunning Gozo on his motorbike. As he journeys through the noiseless streets and takes in the serene Gozo countryside, he expresses his understanding of the Corona pandemic, attempting to navigate the fine lines between what is, and what once was. He reflects deeply on the unsustainable way we have all been living and what is truly important.
This beautifully shot piece breeds gratefulness as we see first-hand just how breathtaking Gozo is from above, plus highlights the necessary death and rebirth cycle of this thing we call life. It consciously reminds us all that we have a choice. A choice to live, consume, act in a worthier way and serve humanity and our planet as one. The film adapts words from the poem ‘Lockdown’ by Brother Richard Hendrick……
