Getting to Gharb
Gharb is located at the westernmost point of Gozo Island, the far opposite end to the ferry. Famous for its pretty architecture and quaint streets, the pretty square is always a sight for sore eyes. It offers a small selection of bars and restaurants and is minutes from the eye-catching Dwejra Bay and Inland Sea. Also a stones throw from Ta Pinu. Gharb takes approximately 20 minutes from the Gozo Ferry Terminal by car and is well connected by bus. Take route 301 from the ferry to Victoria then the 312 to Gharb.
Staying In Gharb
Staying in Gharb makes sense if you love quiet, walking in nature, and taking in picturesque streets and architecture. The traditional village square is a beautiful place to sit, eat and drink. Beaches
If you are in Gharb turn left and you will meet Dwejra and The Inland Sea, turn right and you will find Wied Il Mielah and Wied Il Ghasri – a small, off-the-beaten-track place to swim and rest. The Ta’ Dbieġi crafts village is located in Għarb. Once having served as soldiers’ quarters for the British military service, the Ta’ Dbieġi crafts village now houses Gozo’s finest artisans offering hand-made products, workshops and private sessions.
Visit Ta Pinu
The National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu is a Roman Catholic church located in the village of Gharb. It is well worth a proper visit and you can easily spend a few hours exploring and around this amazing building.
A The Little Boat Trip
Take a little boat trip, and we mean little – through the cave at The Inland Sea. For under €5, you can be taken through this natural wonder out to the open sea and back again. You can even take ice cream with you!
