Enjoy an authentic and mindful weaving experience at Gozo Weaving & Creations with award-winning textile designer Alda Bugeja.

Book either a private session or a small group and receive traditional skills through this incredibly hands-on experience and take home the item you have crafted. This workshop is suitable for all ages. Alda loves to inspire a new generation of weavers in Gozo.

Choose From Traditional Local Crafts;
1. Hand Spinning Workshop
Hand spinning is the method of turning fibres, such as wool, cotton, and silk into yarn which can then be woven into fabric. Spinning features in many of our best-loved fairy tales where all beautiful, young princesses spent most of their time at the spinning wheel and it has a very long history in Gozo sheering sheep happens once a year followed by washing, cleaning, and teasing the sheep’s wool.   Happily, Alda demonstrates the technic of hand spinning in her workshop.
2. Weaving  Workshop
Choose to make one of the following and take home an authentic Gozitan artisan handmade product;
  • A rug on a foot loom
  • A bag, coaster, or bookmark on a Cardboard or Frame Loom.
3. Macrame Workshop
Choose to make one of the following:
  • Three different keychains
  • A Plant Pot Holder
  • A Star or Heart
  • A Jewellery Set (Bracelet & Necklace)
Cost:
€35.00 for 1 hour 30 minutes (All materials included)
Group workshops of 4 participants will have a discount of €10 each.
